Brief History

The Mizo Academy of Sciences (MAS) was founded as the Mizo Post-Graduate Science Society in 1995 at Shillong, Meghalaya, and from 1997 is chartered in Aizawl, Mizoram, as a registered non-profit, voluntary, scientific and educational organisation (No. S.R.42/96/MZ-RFS of 1996 of the Mizoram Firms & Societies Registration Act, 2005, under the Indian Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860). It aims to promote and make further development of science for the younger generation. Since 2001 the society publishes a quarterly Science Vision, with financial assistance from the Directorate of Science and Technology, Government of Mizoram.. . read more

Science Vision (e-ISSN 2229-6026/p-ISSN 0975-6175) is an interdisciplinary science journal, and is published quarterly in the months of March, June, September, and December. It publishes articles of original research, research reviews, short report, hypothesis, and news from all branches of science.

Publication    28 March 2014

Annual General Conference-cum-Seminar 2016   30/11/2016

MAS Annual Conference-cum-Seminar on Make in India: Science and Technology Driven Innovations was held on 4 November 2016 at Pi Zaii Hall, Synod Conference Centre, Aizawl. Thematic speech was delivered by Dr R. K. Lallianthanga, MAS Chief Mentor and Chief Scientific Officer, Directorate of Science and Technology.

MAS Office Bearers for the term 2016-2018 were elected as: President K. Lalchhandama, Vice-President H. Lalruatsanga, General Secretary Lalrokima Chenkual, Assistant Secretary H. Lalthanzara, Finance Secretary R. Lalfakzuala, Treasurer Esther Lalhmingliani.
